Elizabeth recently embarked on a four date concert tour of Ireland with tenor Nicky Spence and pianist Michael Joyce. The trio presented repertoire that had been performed and recorded by the renowned Irish tenor John McCormack and Austrian violinist Fritz Kreisler when they collaborated last century touring to many of the world's great concert halls.
McCormack/Kreisler Trio
Kreisler, also a great composer, arranged many of McCormack's favourite ballads and arias, introducing a line for violin alongside the piano accompaniment.
Edwin Schneider and the Dublin based Vincent O'Brien were the regular accompanists for these recitals and in the programme below, Elizabeth, Nicky and Michael delve into the diverse and wide ranging repertoire of these legendary musicians. There are works by Schubert through to Rachmaninov and the trio have introduced a few new pieces to the programme such as a haunting and magical arrangement of 'Anach Cuan' by living Irish composer John Gibson.
